COLUMBIA, SC – The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is asking for public feedback on its long-term transportation strategy, Momentum 2050: Moving South Carolina Forward.
This statewide plan outlines the future of South Carolina’s transportation system, covering all modes of travel, including cars, trucks, trains, public transit, bicycles, and pedestrian pathways.
Momentum 2050 evaluates the state’s current transportation network and sets long-term goals for the next 25 years. The plan focuses on four key priorities: improving existing infrastructure, enhancing freight movement, addressing mobility needs in both urban and rural areas, and strengthening partnerships across transportation sectors.
As part of a federal funding requirement, SCDOT updates this multimodal transportation plan every five years. Throughout the development of Momentum 2050, SCDOT has gathered input from stakeholders and the public. Now, officials are seeking additional community feedback before finalizing the plan.
Residents can submit comments on the draft plan until April 19. For more details or to share feedback, visit Momentum 2050: Moving South Carolina Forward.
