Lancaster County Council and the Lancaster County School District Board of Trustees to Hold Joint Meeting

Lancaster County, SC – Lancaster County Council and the Lancaster County School District Board of Trustees are pleased to announce a joint meeting on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 6:00pm in Lancaster County Council Chambers to discuss strategies for enhancing collaboration and improving communication between the two entities. This meeting aims to explore ways to better serve the community, optimize resources, and ensure that both the county and school district work together effectively for the benefit of all residents. Both elected bodies will also discuss presenting voter referendums for new facilities and road improvements, plus evaluating impact fees for schools.

The joint session will bring together key leaders from both the county and the school district to examine current opportunities and challenges in their partnership. Through this collaboration, both entities hope to streamline communications and jointly improve collaborative efforts for Lancaster County residents.

Chairman of County Council, Bryan Carnes shared, “This meeting marks an important step in strengthening the relationship between the county and the school district. Our goal is simple: to find better ways to work together and ensure that taxpayer resources are being used efficiently to meet the needs of our community. By opening the lines of communication and fostering collaboration, we can create a more connected, responsive, and thriving community.”

School Board Chairman, Melvin M. Stroble Sr. stated, “Education and community engagement go hand in hand. By aligning our efforts and sharing insights, we can improve not only our schools but the quality of life in our entire community. This joint meeting will provide a platform for open discussion, and together, we’ll explore solutions to ensure that our students, families, and residents are best supported.”

Both the county and the school district recognize the importance of working together to enhance the services they provide to the community. This collaborative approach will ensure that both organizations are aligned to their goals, making the best use of their collective resources for the benefit of all.

The meeting will take place at 6:00pm, on Thursday, March 20, in Lancaster County Council Chambers, 101 N. Main Street. The meeting will be live streamed on the Lancaster County YouTube channel.
