James David Terry, 39, a cherished husband, father, and friend, was born on June 9, 1985, in Gaston County, North Carolina. He embarked on a journey that would be marked by love, laughter, and a deep commitment to his family and community. Sadly, James departed this world on March 2, 2025, at Atrium Health CMC-Main, surrounded by his devoted and loving family.
James was a passionate man who owned and operated The Tree Care Landscaping, where he poured his heart into his work, leaving a lasting imprint on those he met. But beyond his professional achievements, it was during family time that James truly shone. A fun-loving spirit, he relished moments spent fishing and cruising on a boat, each cast a testament to his adventurous spirit. He was an avid sports fan, frequently found cheering for his favorite teams, embodying the enthusiasm and camaraderie that sports bring to families.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Kristin Fegley Terry, whose love and support were central to their life together. He will be dearly missed by his children: Arron Thompson, Noah Terry, Mariah Terry, Willie Terry, Kaiden Tsibouris, Xavier Cosgrove, and Jahfonte Marshon. Each of them carries a piece of James’s vibrant spirit and zest for life within them.
In addition to his immediate family, James is survived by his siblings, Ariel Strickland, Robert Miller, Jessica Miller, who shared countless memories filled with laughter and love. Together, they navigated the ups and downs of life, creating bonds that will last beyond this earthly realm.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Angela Strickland Terry, and his grandparents, Tommy and Linda Terry. Their love and guidance shaped the man he became, and as he returns to them, we take solace in knowing that he is embraced by their warmth.
Family and friends are invited to honor James’s life at a visitation on Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at The Place Church in Lowell, NC. (1625 Lowell Bethesda Road, Lowell, NC, 29098) Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will be held at the same location at 3:30 PM, where stories and memories will take center stage as we remember a man who truly knew how to live and love deeply.
James’s legacy will undoubtedly continue through the love he fostered with his family and friends. Though the world feels a little dimmer without him, his spirit remains vibrant in every loved memory, every fishing trip, every cheering match, and in the hearts of those who continue to cherish his memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home for his funeral expenses.
