Clover Police Department Brings Back Citizens Academy for 2025

The Clover Police Department is once again opening its doors to the community with the return of its highly popular Citizens Academy in 2025. This program, designed to build trust and strengthen relationships between law enforcement and residents, has been a resounding success in the past, offering an inside look into the policies, practices, and day-to-day operations of the department.

What to Expect

The Citizens Academy provides participants with the opportunity to learn about police officer training, traffic laws and enforcement, use of force, Taser and OC training, specialized units, and more. Additional experiences, such as ride-alongs, will also be offered for those who want to gain hands-on exposure to law enforcement work.

Classes will take place over an eight-week period, with sessions held every Thursday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM starting May 1, 2025. Participants must attend at least six of the eight sessions to graduate from the program.

Who Can Attend?

The academy is open to anyone 18 years or older. A background check will be required for all applicants. Priority will be given to residents of Clover’s town limits, but all are encouraged to apply.

No Cost, Big Rewards

Participation in the Citizens Academy is completely free, making it an accessible opportunity for anyone curious about the inner workings of their local police department. By participating, attendees will not only gain valuable knowledge but also contribute to fostering a stronger sense of community.
