Fort Mill, S.C. — November 20, 2025 — Christmas came early for several local nonprofits this week as a tractor-trailer from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Southeast Storehouse rolled into Fort Mill loaded with holiday cheer—and essential supplies.
The driver arrived with an 18-wheeler carrying 24 pallets of food destined for organizations serving families facing increasing food insecurity across the region.
Volunteers from the Fort Mill Care Center, Hope of Rock Hill, Pilgrim’s Inn, Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen, and Clover Area Assistance Center, along with Latter-day Saint missionaries and other church volunteers, gathered to unload the massive delivery. The group worked together to distribute the pallets and reload them into the individual nonprofits’ trucks.
“We are incredibly grateful to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for this generous donation of food,” said Cameron Hurst, Executive Director of Clover Area Assistance Center. “With the government shutdown and the holidays approaching, this month has brought an extraordinary increase in need. These items arrived at the perfect time and have already made a meaningful difference as we’ve provided food to more than 300 households this month in our community. We truly appreciate this partnership and the impact it brings to the families we serve.”
Justin Blackham, Faith Leader for the Greater Fort Mill area, added, “We are grateful for the opportunity to assist these community organizations who work continuously to care for those in need and lighten the burdens of our brothers and sisters, especially during this holiday season.”
This collaborative effort highlights the ongoing commitment of local nonprofits and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to serving the community and ensuring families have access to food during the holiday season and beyond.
