Rock Hill Man Sentenced to Over 14 Years in Federal Prison for Drug and Firearm Offenses

Freddie Antwon Thompson, 34, of Rock Hill, has been sentenced to more than 14 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute marijuana and crack cocaine.

The sentencing follows evidence presented to the court showing Thompson’s involvement in multiple offenses. On November 2, 2022, Rock Hill Police officers conducted a routine traffic stop, during which Thompson was found in possession of a loaded firearm, ammunition, marijuana, crack cocaine, and oxycodone. At the time of his arrest on federal charges, he was also carrying another loaded firearm, additional marijuana, and a digital scale.

As a convicted felon, Thompson was prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition under federal law. His criminal record includes multiple convictions, such as trafficking methamphetamine and cocaine base, distribution of marijuana and ecstasy, unlawful carrying of weapons, and resisting arrest. Due to his extensive criminal history and prior drug convictions, Thompson was sentenced as a career offender.

United States District Judge Sherri A. Lydon sentenced Thompson to 170 months in prison, followed by six years of court-ordered supervision. Under federal law, parole is not an option.
