York, SC –York School District One (YSD1) will host its first Student Rezoning Process Public Information Session virtually on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
The session is part of the district’s preparation for the opening of White Hill Middle School in 2027. Beginning with the 2027–2028 school year, York Middle School and White Hill Middle School will serve students in grades 6–8, while York Intermediate School will serve fifth-grade students. New attendance boundaries will be established as part of that transition.
“This is an important process for our district and our families, and we want our community informed and engaged from the very beginning,” said YSD1 Superintendent Dr. Heath Branham. “Our goal is to be transparent throughout this process, listen to our families, and make sure our community has opportunities to be seen, be heard, and be part of the conversation.”
The September 28 virtual session will provide an overview of the rezoning process, timeline, and opportunities for community input. No final rezoning decisions will be announced during the session.
A second, in-person public information session will be held Tuesday, November 17, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the York Comprehensive High School Cafeteria. Details for accessing the September 28 virtual session and additional rezoning information will be shared through the district website, ParentSquare, and YSD1 social media pages.
