A 29-year-old Cherokee County Detention Center officer lost his life Sunday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision on North Main Street in Clover.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Timothy Norris. Officials reported that Norris was en route to work when the crash occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m.
Norris began his career with the detention center in May 2025 and recently graduated from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in May 2026.
Describing his passing as a profound and devastating loss, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office extended its grief to the community, asking for continued prayers and support for Norris’s family, friends, and colleagues. Agency staff and fellow officers are leaning on one another as they navigate the loss of one of their own.
Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the cause or circumstances of the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.
