Local Schools Stack Qualifiers at 5A Division 2 Mid State Meet
Athletes from Catawba Ridge, Fort Mill, Indian Land, Nation Ford and Northwestern collected dozens of automatic state berths Friday at the SCHSL 5A Division 2 Mid State track and field meet, hosted by Northwestern at Winthrop University in Rock Hill.
The top three finishers in each event qualified automatically for next Saturday’s SCHSL 5A Division 2 state championship at Richland Northeast High School in Columbia. With Friday’s meet serving as the third and final upper state qualifier, the next seven fastest times in each running event across the three upper state district meets will also receive state invitations. Those additional qualifiers will be announced in the coming days, and the Tega Cay Sun will publish the local list once it is finalized.
