Registration for Clover School District’s Montessori program, which enters its ninth year this fall, closed Feb. 24, with a lottery set for Feb. 26 to determine student placements.
Based on a release from Clover School District.
Clover School District’s Montessori program will enter its ninth year in fall 2025, according to the district. Registration for the program closed Monday, Feb. 24, at 3 p.m., and the district plans to hold a lottery Wednesday, Feb. 26, to select students eligible to enroll for the 2025-26 school year.
The Montessori program is based at Griggs Road Elementary School, which hosts two classes of three-, four- and five-year-old students, according to the district. The Montessori method groups students of mixed ages together, allowing older children to share knowledge with younger ones, and gives students access to materials with varying levels of difficulty, the district said.
To register, parents were required to attend one of two virtual information meetings the district held in February, on Feb. 4 from 6 to 6:30 p.m. and Feb. 13 from noon to 12:30 p.m. The program is open to students across the entire district, not only those zoned for Griggs Road, according to the district.
Families will be notified of their lottery placement shortly after the drawing, the district said. Those not placed in the Montessori program can be added to a waiting list for future openings. Families who registered a pre-kindergarten aged child who was not selected will have the option to be screened for the district’s pre-kindergarten program.
More information on the Montessori program is available in the Early Childhood Education section of the district’s website, which includes answers to frequently asked questions.
