The district ranked among the Top 10 School Food Authorities in South Carolina and will receive $5,000 to buy local products for school meals.
York School District One Food Services has received a Certified SC Cafeteria Award, placing it among the Top 10 School Food Authorities in South Carolina, according to the district.
YSD1 Director of Food Services Latisha Holt accepted the award last week at the School Nutrition Association of SC Conference, the district said.
As a recipient, the district will get $5,000 to support the purchase of local products and incorporate more South Carolina grown foods into school meals, according to YSD1.
