Winthrop Runner Anna Conrad Earns Big South Weekly Honor

Winthrop University cross country runner Anna Conrad has been named the Big South Conference Women’s Runner of the Week following a strong performance at the USC Upstate Invitational.

The conference announced the honor Wednesday, recognizing Conrad’s team-best eighth-place finish at the meet. She completed the 5-kilometer race in 17 minutes, 38.2 seconds, setting a new personal record.

The award marks the first Big South Runner of the Week honor for Winthrop’s women’s cross country program since Lauren Charlton received the recognition for the week of Oct. 11, 2023.

For Conrad, the honor is her second career weekly award. She previously earned Big South Freshman of the Week recognition during the 2024 season.

Conrad’s performance at the USC Upstate Invitational helped lead the Eagles as they continued their fall season competition.
