FORT MILL, S.C. — State Representative Jackie Terribile has awarded the 2026 General Assembly Women’s Caucus Representative Jackie Terribile Scholarship to Marisol Carranza Garcia, a 2026 graduate of Nation Ford High School who is pursuing a career in welding.
Carranza Garcia is continuing her education and training in welding, with the goal of eventually becoming a welding inspector.
“When I reviewed the scholarship applicants, Marisol immediately stood out to me,” Terribile said. “I wanted to recognize a young woman who was pursuing the skilled trades, and Marisol had chosen a challenging field with tremendous opportunity. I was thrilled to select her.”
Terribile believes students should be encouraged to consider the many paths available to them after high school, including technical education and careers in the skilled trades.
“South Carolina needs talented young people entering the skilled trades, and I love seeing a young woman pursue a field where women are still underrepresented,” Terribile said. “Marisol has a clear goal for her future, and I am proud that this scholarship can play a small part in helping her get there.”
The General Assembly Women’s Caucus Representative Jackie Terribile Scholarship gives Terribile the opportunity to recognize young women from the community as they continue their education and prepare for their careers. Earlier this year, Terribile also presented the scholarship to Nation Ford graduate Paige Thomas, who plans to pursue a career in education.
Terribile represents South Carolina House District 66, which includes Fort Mill and Tega Cay, and serves on the House Education and Public Works Committee.
