Funeral home continues its 85 year tradition of service with a lifesaving community event
Lancaster, SC — Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service will host a community blood drive on Monday, September 28, in partnership with OneBlood. From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the Big Red Bus will be stationed at the funeral home’s parking lot at 709 North White Street, welcoming both scheduled donors and walkins throughout the day. For Lancaster Funeral Home, the event reflects a longstanding commitment to serving the community in meaningful ways — not only during moments of loss, but through initiatives that strengthen and support local families.
“Community service has always been at the heart of who we are,” said Tiffany Haynes, Senior Funeral Home Manager. “For 85 years, families have trusted us during their most difficult moments. Hosting this blood drive is another way we can give back — by helping save lives and supporting the health of our neighbors.”
Donors will receive a complimentary Wellness Checkup, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, iron count, and cholesterol screening. All participants will also receive a $20 eGift Card and a Cancer Awareness Tshirt as a thank you for their contribution. Each blood donation has the potential to save up to three lives, and Lancaster residents are encouraged to take part in this lifesaving effort.
“Lancaster is a closeknit community. When one person gives blood, that act of kindness can ripple outward. We’re proud to provide a space where people can come together and make a difference,” Haynes added. “Events like this blood drive reflect our belief that funeral service is ultimately about community — about showing up for one another in every season of life.”
Appointments can be scheduled through OneBlood’s online donor portal (Scheduler | Donate Blood or Platelets), though walkins are welcome throughout the event. Donors are reminded to bring their ID when donating blood.
