Rock Hill, S.C. – The Big South Conference has announced its 2026 Midseason Watch List for women’s soccer, and four Eagles were listed among the conference’s best.
The four Eagles selected were Monssi Avila Gutierrez (forward), Cordelia McIntosh (forward), Amelie Steen (forward) and Mia Silber (defender).
Avila-Gutierrez, McIntosh and Steen were all named among the list of 10 forwards from around the conference, while Silber landed on the list of seven defenders.
Avila-Gutierrez was also named Big South Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Eagles to a 3-0 victory over South Carolina State on Sunday, with her first hat trick of her career.
McIntosh has been a spark plug all season for the Winthrop offense, currently leading the team in shots with 21.
Steen has started in every game for the Eagles as she has become a consistent threat for the opponent’s defense.
Silber has been an integral part of the defense this season, leading the Eagles to their third shutout win of the season on Sunday.
