Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Dr. Annie Andrews will meet with voters from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at The Hickory, 202 E. Main St. in downtown Rock Hill.
State House candidate Mallory Dittmer is scheduled to attend, according to the Andrews campaign. The event is open to the public, and the campaign is maintaining a press attendee list.
The Rock Hill stop had been set for earlier in the week before the campaign rescheduled it.
CHARLESTON, S.C. — Dr. Annie Andrews, nominee for US Senate, is launching a statewide “Gas, Grits, and Groceries Tour” this week to unveil her new plan to tackle affordability issues that are facing South Carolina families. Annie’s plan offers real solutions to address the rising costs of housing, groceries, gas, and childcare.
With the weight of rising prices pressing down on Palmetto State families like never before, Annie’s’ Affordability Plan delivers a decisive, across-the-aisle roadmap to combat the cost-of-living crisis, head-on. This is not a collection of talking points, but a concrete, actionable strategy designed to restore economic stability for every South Carolina family.
The comprehensive proposal lays out a four-pronged offensive to ease the financial strain on working families: expanding housing accessibility, strengthening child care infrastructure to support working parents, slashing energy and grocery bills at the checkout line, and equipping local communities with the regulatory firepower to push back against unchecked corporate data center encroachment.
“We all feel it. No matter how hard we work, no matter how much we try to skimp and save – everything just keeps getting more and more expensive. This isn’t an accident – and it doesn’t have to be this way. In Washington, both parties scream and shout about the latest partisan conflict or controversy of the day – but nobody does anything to actually lower our costs. Meanwhile corrupt politicians and big corporations keep raising our taxes, raising the cost of health care, raising our electric bills, raising our gas prices, raising the cost of housing, and raising the cost of … well just about everything,” said Dr. Annie Andrews. “I’ve had enough – and that’s why I’m proposing a real affordability plan for South Carolina – one that takes the best ideas from both parties, while putting our families ahead of the corporate special interests and greedy politicians that benefit while the rest of us pay more.”
“Democrats won’t like everything I’m proposing here. And Republicans won’t either. Big insurance, big tech, big pharma, and the utility monopolies definitely won’t. But I think that you will probably find a lot to like. And, if elected, I’ll fight every day to get politicians from both sides to come together and work on these common sense ideas to make life more affordable for South Carolinians – and for all Americans,” said Dr. Andrews.
Annie’s affordability plan is a reminder that lowering costs is a survival issue for working families and a key policy priority of her campaign.
