FORT MILL, SC — The South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) has released the latest test scores, and Fort Mill students once again performed at very high levels, highlighting our commitment to academic excellence and to providing a high-quality education for all students.
The SC Ready and End-of-Course (EOC) tests measure how students are performing. Our district not only far exceeded state averages but also outperformed nearly every other district in South Carolina.
The district was recognized as one of the top-performing districts in the state, achieving or surpassing the 75% proficiency mark in multiple grade levels:
- SC Ready ELA and SC Ready Math: Students in grades 3-8 take the SC Ready ELA and SC Ready Math. Our district had the highest overall scores in the state in every grade in ELA and in grades 3,4,7,8 in math.
- SC Ready Science: Students in grades 4 and 6 take the SC Ready Science. Our district had the highest scores in both grades in the state.
- High School – EOC: High school students take End of Course (EOC) exams in Algebra 1, Biology, English 2 and U.S. History. Our district had the highest scores in the state among traditional school districts in English 2, Biology, and U.S. History.
“These results are something our entire community can be proud of,” said Superintendent Grey Young. “They reflect the hard work of our students, the skill and dedication of our teachers and staff, and the support of our families. While we are proud to see Fort Mill students continue to perform among the very best in South Carolina, our focus remains on continuous improvement and making sure every student has the opportunity to grow and succeed.”
