Mr. Lloyd Harry Merck, age 82, of Clover, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Peak Resources in Cherryville, North Carolina.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Bratton Funeral Home, 1455 Filbert Highway, York, SC 29745. A graveside service will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, South Carolina.
Harry was born on May 17, 1944, in Bowling Green, South Carolina. He was the son of the late John Merck and Mary Church Merck and the loving widower of Helen Lucille Melton Merck.
Harry worked in janitorial services for York County for many years and was a faithful member of Midway Baptist Church in York. He was a simple man who found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially his great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Pauley (Ralph), his bonus daughter Glenda Payseur; his granddaughter, Nikki Womble (Jeremy); his great-grandchildren, Christian Leonard, Jessah Womble, Juna Womble, and Jani Womble; and his sister, Carol Amon.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Harry was preceded in death by his siblings.
