YORK COUNTY, SC – York County Sheriff’s Office Detectives have made an arrest in the theft of money from the Field Day Park investigation, located at 1101 Field Day Lane in Clover. Detectives identified Park Superintendent Jason Cameron Ratterree as the sole suspect in this investigation.
After an exhaustive investigation and review of all collected evidence, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Jason Ratterree on charges of Embezzlement exceeding $10,000. No other park or York County employees were identified as suspects.
On March 20, 2026, YCSO was asked to investigate financial irregularities at Field Day Park following an internal investigation. The allegations involved cash payments made to Field Day Park that were never documented or deposited into a York County-controlled bank account.
Detectives were assisted by Fraud Examiners from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and agents with the South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR). The investigation period extends from October 2020 to March 2026.
Investigators continue to ask for the public’s assistance in identifying potential victims or witnesses. Anyone who has paid cash to Field Day Park for field rentals, community center or pavilion rentals, sponsorships, pickleball classes, or as a food truck vendor during that time frame is asked to come forward.
Ratterree turned himself in on the morning of May 21, 2026. He has been booked into the York County Detention Center and is awaiting a bond.
