Coroner Identifies Victim in Four-Vehicle Crash in York County

YORK COUNTY, S.C. (August 14, 2025) — The York County Coroner’s Office has officially identified the man who lost his life in a multi-vehicle collision that occurred Tuesday evening.

Victim Named
The deceased has been identified as Torban Walker, 66, of Clover. According to the coroner, Walker tragically died at the scene of the crash.

Details of the Crash
The incident took place at approximately 7:00 p.m. on Highway 557 near Bethel Church Road on Tuesday. Investigators say Walker’s vehicle was struck from behind in what became a four-vehicle collision. The impact proved fatal, with Walker pronounced dead at the scene.

Charges Filed
Following the crash, authorities charged Walter Duncan, 59, with felony driving while under the influence (DUI).

Ongoing Investigation
The coroner’s office indicated that the investigation is ongoing. Additional details have not yet been released.
