Frances Bolin Childers left this world and walked into the arms of Jesus to join her beloved husband, Jimmy R. Childers, Sr., in their heavenly home. Her family is grateful to McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC for their love and care and for making her last days on this earth peaceful.
Frances was born and raised in York, SC on November 23, 1938, to Woodrow and Della Martin Bolin. She attended York County Public School. She grew up attending Central Baptist Church where she met her loving husband of 63 years. She raised her 3 children before returning to work with Adkins CPA as a bookkeeper and auditor, and later retired from Meritor. Frances, lovingly called Memommer, was known for her homemade biscuits, love of shopping, and doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She expected her daughters and granddaughters to take her to Hamricks and Belks to the very end. She was a devoted and active member of Central Baptist Church and served faithfully in the children’s ministry, the Women’s Missionary Union, and as church hostess. No member of CBC would go hungry under her watch, always having sweet tea and hot biscuits. She enjoyed being active in the G.W.R.R.A SC-H motorcycle group, going on rides, and traveling with her husband and friends.
Frances is survived by her children Tammy Boyd (JR) of Lamar, SC, Tena Perry of Wilmington, NC, Jimmy Ray Childers, Jr (Eva) of Morse Bluff, NE, and Sandy Manus (Trayce) of Clover, SC; sister Claudette Hogue (Perry) of Rock Hill, SC; a brother-in-law John L. Montgomery; Grandchildren Brittany Hamilton (Tim), Daniel Boyd (Heather), Tyler Boyd (Rachel), Justin Perry (Rebecca), Lauren Perry, Trinity Cappellano (Jason), Ashlee Bryant and Evan Marr; 8 great-grandchildren Andrew and William Boyd, Easton, Gray, and Briggs Boyd, Jack Hamilton, Adelyn Perry, and Hudson Cappellano, a host of nieces and nephews, and many extended family members.
In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by a brother, Woodrow Bolin; a sister, Katherine Bolin Montogomery; a grandson Clinton W. Boyd; 4 brothers-in-law; and 3 sisters-in-law.
There will be a graveside service 2:00 pm Friday February 28, 2025 at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, SC. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service. Memorials may be sent to McLeod Hospice House, 1203 E. Cheves St., Florence, SC 29506.
