Person Recovered from Lake Wylie Following York County Water Rescue

A person was recovered from Lake Wylie following a water rescue operation Monday evening in York County per reporting from WSOC

According to the York County Sheriff’s Office, multiple emergency agencies responded to Ebenezer Boat Landing at approximately 7:40 p.m. after receiving reports that a person had jumped from a boat and failed to resurface.

Divers and emergency crews began searching the area, and at approximately 8:40 p.m., officials announced that a person had been recovered from the lake.

The York County Sheriff’s Office, York County Office of Emergency Management, South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and Newport Fire Department assisted in the search and recovery operation.

Additional details about the person’s identity and condition were not immediately released
