Carowinds to Open for 2025 Season on March 15, Unveils New Events and Park Upgrades

Carowinds has unveiled its 2025 season calendar, featuring new festival celebrations, expanded family-friendly attractions, and the park’s first season under the ownership of Six Flags Entertainment Corp. The 400-acre amusement park, which straddles the North Carolina-South Carolina border in Charlotte and Fort Mill, will officially open for its 52nd season on March 15, 2025.

Exciting New Events and Returning Favorites

The 2025 season will introduce two new major events—Summerbration and Viva La Fiesta—alongside the return of guest favorites such as SCarowinds, Oktoberfest, and WinterFest.

  • Spring Break Days (April 11-27): Featuring daily entertainment, special festivities, and a 10th-anniversary celebration for the park’s iconic Fury 325 roller coaster.
  • Summerbration (June-July): A new summer festival featuring exclusive experiences and limited-time entertainment on select days.
  • Viva La Fiesta (July 19-Aug. 10): A vibrant cultural celebration with themed entertainment and authentic cuisine.
  • Oktoberfest (Sept. 13-Nov. 2): Returning for its second year, this event brings Germany’s famous festival to the Carolinas with food, craft beers, and live entertainment.
  • SCarowinds (Sept. 12-Nov. 2): The park’s signature Halloween event featuring haunted mazes and attractions, plus kid-friendly trick-or-treating.
  • WinterFest (Nov. 22-Jan. 4, 2026): A dazzling holiday celebration with millions of lights, seasonal performances, and festive treats.

New Rides and Attractions at Camp Snoopy

Carowinds continues its commitment to family-friendly entertainment by adding two new rides to its Camp Snoopychildren’s area:

  • A new roller coaster, designed for younger thrill-seekers.
  • A raft ride, bringing a splash of excitement to the area.
  • Expanded splash zones, perfect for cooling off in the summer heat.

Legacy Rides Retired as Part of Park Upgrades

In line with Six Flags’ broader investment strategy, Carowinds is undergoing significant changes, including the removal of several longtime rides:

  • Nighthawk, the flying coaster known for its unique layout.
  • Drop Tower, a high-intensity free-fall ride.
  • Scream Weaver, the classic spinning thrill ride.

Six Flags has committed to investing over $1 billion across its 42 theme parks over the next two years, focusing on ride upgrades, new dining options, and park enhancements.

Carolina Harbor Water Park Reopening

Carowinds’ Carolina Harbor water park will reopen on May 24, 2025, just in time for summer fun.

Ticket Prices for the 2025 Season

Carowinds offers a range of ticketing options:

  • Single-Day Ticket: $40
  • Single-Day Ticket with Parking & Dining: $59
  • Season Passes: Starting at $95, with options to upgrade to Gold or Prestige.
  • All Park Passport: Available for $80, allowing pass holders access to all Six Flags parks.

With new events, expanded attractions, and significant park investments, the 2025 season at Carowinds promises to be one of its most exciting yet.
