Fort Mill, South Carolina – Donna Lou Parko, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, peacefully departed this life on January 3, 2024.
She was born in Western Pennsylvania and raised her family in South Florida before relocating to Fort Mill, SC in 1993. Donna embraced southern culture and enjoyed sweet tea, fried chicken, and trips to the beach and mountains.
Donna enjoyed cooking, drinking wine, shopping, spoiling her grandchildren, and vacationing with family. Many memories were made in Ocean Isle Beach, NC, where the family gathered every year.
She is preceeded in death by her parents, Louis and Ethel Olshinsky.
Survivors include her husband John Parko, daughters, Heather (Li) Ting and Robin Parko, brother Leo Olshinsky (Karen Murphy), and grandchildren Tristen and Trace Ting.
A visitation followed by a funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 9th, 8:30 am at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church in Rock Hill.

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida. In 2 short years he has won 10 awards from the South Carolina Press Association, including first place in column writing, education beat reporting and best podcast.
