Charles Michael “Mike” Taylor, 74, Lancaster, SC

Mr. Charles Michael “Mike” Taylor, age 74, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2025. He was born November 20, 1951, in Lancaster, SC, the son of the late Charles Dobson Taylor and the late Carol Carla Deese Taylor and was the husband of the late Joan Willis Taylor. Mike proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from Morrison Textiles as a machinist where he was employed before graduating high school. Mike enjoyed fishing, gardening, and woodworking where he made beautiful furniture. He loved playing golf with his buddies and family. Family was most important to him, and he loved them all dearly, especially his grandchildren. His dogs Sammie and Annie were his best friends.

He is survived by his sons, Micky Taylor (Paula), Rev. Cliff Henson (Anna), and Marty Taylor (Kelly); grandchildren, Emily Sistare (Dylan), Ashley Taylor (Noah Rabon), Noah Taylor, and Molly Taylor; great grandchildren, Grayson Henson and Drake Sistare; and sister, Wendy Steele.

Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Taylor; his son, Michael Taylor; his grandson, Caleb Henson; his parents, Charles and Carla Taylor; and brother-in-law, Phillip Steele.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Mike will be 3:00 pm Monday, December 29, 2025, at Lancaster Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Catlin Rollings and Rev. Cliff Henson. The family will receive friends following at the graveside.

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida.
