Riverstone Logistics, a prominent supply chain and logistics company, announced plans to move its corporate headquarters from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Rock Hill, South Carolina. The move, an investment of $16.4 million, is projected to create 159 new jobs and marks the company’s first operation in the state.
A Strategic Move for Growth
The new headquarters will be located at 220 West White Street, a key part of the city’s The Thread revitalization project. Operations are scheduled to begin in July 2026. According to CEO Charlie Workmon, the decision was a strategic one, aimed at aligning the company’s growth with South Carolina’s business-friendly environment and skilled workforce.
Riverstone Logistics, founded in 2017, specializes in final-mile delivery and freight brokerage for industries including consumer electronics and building materials. This relocation is a significant milestone for the company, which has a stated mission to “love, serve, and improve” the communities it operates in.
Widespread Economic Support
The move received broad support from state and local officials. The South Carolina Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits and a $600,000 Set-Aside grant for York County to help with building improvements.
Governor Henry McMaster and Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III both praised the investment, highlighting the state’s growing reputation as a hub for corporate headquarters.
Rock Hill Mayor John Gettys and York County Council Chairwoman Christi Cox also welcomed the news, emphasizing the positive impact on the local economy and workforce.
Local Impact and Future Opportunities
The relocation is expected to generate high-wage employment and contribute to the economic revitalization of Rock Hill’s urban core. The project is seen as a win for both economic development and community enrichment, providing local talent with opportunities to work close to home.
