Barbara “Bobbie” Beam Obituary
Barbara “Bobbie” Oates Beam, 82, of Fort Mill passed away peacefully on February 8th, 2024. She was born June 6th, 1941 in Chester, SC. A daughter of the late Jesse H Oates and Mary Miller Oates.
Preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Ken Beam and her brother Jesse “Tookie” Oates III. Bobbie is survived by her children Anna Beam Pittman of Fort Mill and Kenneth “Bo” Beam Jr. (Noelle) of Rock Hill; her grandchildren Lauren, Erika, Wynter Pittman, and Justin and Ryan Beam. Her two siblings Bill Oates (Vickie) and Callie Ann Oates Mason.
Bobbie retired from Fort Mill School District, after retiring she began working for Springs Farm. She served in the Fort Mill Community and was a member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
Bobbie “Nannie” as they called her, was a proud grandmother of five grandchildren who she cared for, loved, and supported. They will miss her spunky, sassy self.
The family is grateful for the loving and supportive care team at Wellmore of Tega Cay in addition to Via Hospice nurses and doctors.
Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on February 12, 2024 at 3pm. Located at 501 Pine Street Fort Mill S.C. Family will receive guests in the fellowship hall following the service.
