York Gears Up for Annual Summerfest 2025

The City of York is preparing for its highly anticipated annual Summerfest, set to transform the Historic Downtown District into a vibrant hub of activity on Saturday, August 23, 2025. The festival, now in its 42nd year, promises a full day of live music, family-friendly entertainment, and community celebration from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Summerfest has become a tradition in York, drawing an estimated 10,000 attendees each year. Visitors can expect multiple stages featuring a variety of musical acts throughout the day. Beyond the music, the festival will include a classic car show, an array of local food trucks offering diverse culinary delights, and numerous artisan and craft vendors showcasing unique items.

For families, a dedicated kids’ zone will provide ample entertainment for younger attendees. Those looking to get active can participate in the annual York Summerfest 5K Road Race, challenging runners with the scenic, shaded, and notoriously “hot, hilly, and humid” course through Historic York. Additionally, a golf tournament is often a part of the Summerfest festivities.

The event aims to highlight the charm of Downtown York while providing a platform for local businesses and artisans. Free shuttles will be available to facilitate easy access to the festival grounds. Summerfest is a rain-or-shine event, ensuring a day of fun regardless of the weather, barring extreme conditions.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to mark their calendars for August 23rd to experience this long-standing community tradition. Further details on specific performers and schedules can be found on the event website.
