LANCASTER, S.C. – Mrs. Margaret Therrell Wilson, age 86, passed away Monday, April 28, 2025, at her home.
She was born on July 28, 1938, a daughter of the late Tillman Lee Therrell and the late Sara Bessie Gamble Therrell and was the loving wife of the late Olin Shirley Wilson.
Mrs. Wilson’s greatest joys in life were her family and helping others. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. She always looked forward to family gatherings and lunches with them. Mrs. Wilson volunteered at Lancaster Children’s Home, The Women’s Enrichment Center in Lancaster, and served on many boards as well as many political campaigns over the years, where she loved giving back her time to resources she took pride in. She also enjoyed gardening, shopping, and decorating. Mrs. Wilson was an active member of Belair United Methodist Church where she loved working with the youth and being with her church family.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her daughter, Shirley “Roxanne” Paxton (Martin); her two grandchildren, Joseph Paxton (Hallie), and Jillian Caskey (Brandon); five great-grandchildren, Everleigh, Grayson, Mason, Emmett, and Madden; and her brother, Steve Therrell.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Olin Wilson; her parents, Tillman and Sara Therrell; her brother, Billy Therrell; and her sister, Nancy Stickleather.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Wilson will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2025, at Belair United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Mallory Forte, Rev. Barry Yates, and Rev. Heather Baird. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., one hour prior to the service in the church life center.
