Motorcyclist Dies in Lancaster County Crash

LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — A tragic accident claimed the life of a motorcyclist Friday night in Lancaster County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred at approximately 10 p.m. on Taxahaw Road, roughly five miles east of Lancaster, near Dahlia Road. Officials reported that the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Taxahaw Road when the vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway and collided with a utility pole.

The driver, identified as 23-year-old Haven Chance Mangum of Lancaster, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

South Carolina Highway Patrol officers are conducting an ongoing investigation to determine the precise cause of the accident. Further details will be released as they become available.
