Each spring, the South Carolina Railroad Museum in Winnsboro offers a delightful experience for families and train enthusiasts alike: the Bunny Eggspress. This special event combines the charm of a vintage train ride with the joy of Easter festivities, making it a must-visit attraction during the holiday season.
The Bunny Eggspress Experience
Scheduled on the two Saturdays preceding Easter, the Bunny Eggspress provides a unique blend of entertainment and tradition. Passengers embark on a three-mile journey aboard the historic Rockton, Rion and Western Railroad, immersing themselves in the scenic beauty of Fairfield County. Tickets are available for April 12th and 19th this year.
The train makes a stop at Greenbriar, where all passengers disembark to engage in a variety of activities:
• Easter Bunny Meet and Greet: Children have the opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny, creating memorable photo moments.
• Games and Face Painting: Suitable for all ages, these activities add an extra layer of fun to the event.
• Egg Hunt: Children aged 12 and under can participate in a modified egg hunt, adding excitement to the day.
After approximately 40 minutes of festivities, passengers re-board the train for the return trip to the main depot.
