Paddleboarders to Conquer Cancer in 24-Mile Dam to Dam Event from Mountain Island Lake to Lake Wylie

The 24 Foundation is set to host its annual “Dam to Dam” standup paddleboard event on June 20, 2025. This 24-mile journey begins at the Mountain Island Lake Dam and concludes at the Lake Wylie Dam, aiming to raise funds and awareness for supportive oncology programs in the community.

Participants will embark on an 11-hour paddle along the Catawba River, supported by stocked boats, multiple rest stops, and a catered lunch. The event welcomes individuals of all backgrounds, including cancer survivors, caregivers, and those looking to make a difference. No prior paddleboarding experience is necessary; however, due to limited spots, interested individuals must apply by April 1, 2025. Applicants will be notified of their selection by April 7.

Each participant is required to raise a minimum of $1,500 by June 18, 2025. All necessary gear, including a paddleboard, paddle, and personal flotation device, will be provided. The day concludes with a post-paddle celebration, fostering camaraderie among participants.

As the event finishes at the Lake Wylie Dam, residents of Tega Cay are encouraged to come out and support the paddleboarders as they complete their journey. This local show of support underscores the community’s commitment to those affected by cancer.
