FORT MILL, S.C. — The Humane Society of York County is highlighting two special animals this week who are hoping to find loving forever homes: Hydrangea, an affectionate young cat, and Polyester, a handsome husky mix.
Cat of the Week: Hydrangea
Hydrangea came to the shelter as a stray and is estimated to be about 10 months old. Although relatively new to the rescue, she is already enjoying life in the Cat Lounge. Shelter staff describe her as an old soul who may need a little time to approach but rewards patience with plenty of sweetness. She prefers not to share the spotlight with the other cats but enjoys attention once she settles in.
Hydrangea is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and tested and is ready for adoption.
Dog of the Week: Polyester
Polyester is a handsome Husky mix who was found wandering the streets before being brought to the shelter as a stray. At approximately 6½ years old, he has had a difficult journey but remains a sweet and expressive dog who loves to chatter.
Polyester can be reserved at first and dislikes being confined, but staff say he can become a devoted companion. Stress at the shelter has caused some stomach issues that should be manageable in a permanent home. He is neutered, vaccinated, tested and microchipped.
Those interested in meeting Hydrangea or Polyester can call the Humane Society of York County at 803-802-0902 to make an appointment.
The Humane Society of York County is located at 8177 Regent Parkway in Fort Mill.
