The Fort Mill High School girls golf team won the annual Milltown Showdown Cup on Monday, Sept. 21, at Fort Mill Golf Club.
The Jackets posted a team score of 327 over 18 holes to finish four strokes ahead of Catawba Ridge, which shot 331. Nation Ford was third with a 407.
The event brings together the three high schools in the Fort Mill School District for a single round with the cup going to the low team score.
Lupton leads the way
Addie Lupton set the pace for Fort Mill with a 71, one under par, and was named tournament medalist. She was the only golfer in the field to break par.
Claire Collins added an 80 for the Jackets, and Lauren Venimo followed with an 84. Skylar Sartwell rounded out the team scoring with a 92.
Copperheads close behind
Brooke Mehlhouse led Catawba Ridge with a 79. Bella Troxler and Ella Gaither each carded 82, and Ella Rose Hill and Chaley Barron-Haggerty both finished at 88 for the Copperheads.
Sabino paces Nation Ford
Piper Sabino shot an 82 to lead the Falcons. Campbell Reiking finished with a 94, Carolyn Miller posted a 105 and Brooke Parker completed the scoring with a 126.
