Joann Glodowski Keller, 75, Indian Land, SC

After a recent cancer diagnosis, Joann Keller, nee Glodowski, died at home in Indian Land, SC on September 1, 2026. She was born in Ozone Park, Queens, New York on April 22, 1951. She was calm and at peace when she died. Joann was a retired high school history teacher, having most recently taught at South Pointe High School in Rock Hill. She had a lifelong love of gardening and for many years in retirement enjoyed yoga classes at the Fort Mill YMCA. She was also an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed creating quilted items such as wall hangings, table runners, and placemats.

Joann is survived by her husband, Larry Keller. They were married on November 29, 1975 in Massapequa, New York. She is also survived by her two daughters, Elizabeth Catoe and Diane Keller, as well as one grandson, Thomas Catoe.

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida. In 2 short years he has won 10 awards from the South Carolina Press Association, including first place in column writing, education beat reporting and best podcast.
