ROCK HILL, S.C. — Winthrop University men’s and women’s cross country has announced the slate for the upcoming 2026 season.
The Eagles have secured six events on the schedule, capped off by the Big South Conference Cross Country Championship on Oct. 30 and the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship on Nov. 13, both hosted in Spartanburg, S.C.
“Really excited about this upcoming season,” said Assistant Coach Aidan Fiol. “Both the men’s and women’s teams are coming into this year with a lot of fresh faces that are excited to get after it. They’ll have plenty of opportunities to compete leading into the Big South and Southeast Regional championships.”
Winthrop opens the season on Sept. 4 at the Elon XC Opener in Elon, N.C., before returning home to Rock Hill to host the Winthrop Invitational at Winthrop Farm on Sept. 25. The Eagles then head back up to North Carolina for the Fire Tower Project in Boone on Oct. 2, a demanding course through the Appalachian foothills, before closing out the regular season slate with the Upstate Invitational in Spartanburg on Oct. 17.
After the regular season slate the Eagles turn their attention to the postseason, returning to Spartanburg for the Big South Cross Country Championships on Oct. 30, followed by the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships on Nov. 14, also held in Spartanburg.
