SCDOT to Convert Lancaster County Intersection to All-Way Stop

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) announced it will convert the intersection of Van Wyck Road (S-55) and Steel Hill Road (S-358) into an all-way stop beginning July 31.

State road crews will make the change permanent, requiring drivers approaching from all directions to come to a complete stop before continuing through the intersection.

According to SCDOT, the safety project is designed to improve overall traffic flow, curb speeding, and reduce the potential for severe or fatal collisions in the area.

Transportation officials advise motorists to slow down, exercise caution, and remain alert for work crews and modified traffic patterns when traveling through the intersection.
