Avelo Airlines has added two new nonstop routes into Concord Padgett Regional Airport, giving travelers in Cleveland and Indianapolis a direct line to the Charlotte region without setting foot in Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
The airline began twice weekly service between Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and Concord Padgett Regional Airport on June 19, and twice weekly service between Indianapolis International Airport and Concord on June 18, according to Avelo Airlines. Both routes also include nonstop service to Tweed New Haven Airport in Connecticut. Avelo said it is the only carrier offering nonstop service on either route.
For local travelers, the additions mean two more cities now connect directly to Concord Padgett, the small regional airport that has become Avelo’s Charlotte area base. Avelo has promoted the airport as a faster, less congested alternative to Charlotte Douglas for residents across the Fort Mill and York County area who would rather skip long security lines and a longer drive into uptown Charlotte.
Cleveland flights will run on Fridays and Mondays, while Indianapolis flights will run on Thursdays and Sundays. Both routes use Boeing Next Generation 737 aircraft.
Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO Andrew Levy said the new routes expand travel options for both cities. In the Cleveland announcement, Levy said the company is bringing its affordable fares and reliability to Northeast Ohio with new nonstop service to New Haven and Charlotte and Concord. In the Indianapolis announcement, Levy used nearly identical language, saying the new routes make it easier and more affordable for Indianapolis area travelers to reach the same two destinations.
Local airport officials in both cities welcomed the new service. Scott C. Carr, assistant director of commercial business and revenue at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, said partnerships like this help position Cleveland as a stronger gateway for Northeast Ohio travelers. Mario Rodriguez, executive director of the Indianapolis Airport Authority, said the new flights align with the airport’s commitment to delivering more choice and connectivity for the region.
Avelo is marking both launches with a buy one, get one 50 percent off promotion on round trip base fares booked through June 30, for travel between June and December, with blackout dates around the Fourth of July, Labor Day and Thanksgiving. Travelers can apply the promo code CLE50 for Cleveland flights or IND50 for Indianapolis flights at AveloAir.com.
Concord Padgett Regional Airport has grown into one of Avelo’s four operating bases, alongside Tweed New Haven Airport in Connecticut, Wilmington Airport in Delaware and Lakeland International Airport in Florida. Avelo said it plans to open a fifth base at McKinney National Airport near Dallas later this year.
Since launching in April 2021, Avelo has carried more than 9.6 million passengers on more than 76,000 flights and now serves 34 destinations across 14 states and Puerto Rico, according to the airline. Avelo has said it ranked among the top three U.S. carriers for on time performance and flight cancellation rate in 2025, citing data from aviation analytics firm Anuvu.
Travelers can check current schedules, fares and booking details for both new routes at AveloAir.com.
