ROCK HILL, SC – June 15, 2026 – Chad Williams is excited about the opportunity to take his 25 plus years of experience in York County’s local government to Columbia to represent the 15th District. “Through my ten years of service on the York County Council and my ten years on the City of Rock Hill Planning Commission, I am fully aware of the issues that brought us to where we are and how they affect you going forward.
“My community service started well before time on the planning commission and council. As a National Guard officer, I learned that every aspect of government cannot be run like a business due to its much broader mission. As president of the Rock Hill Jaycees, I learned that it takes a different approach to motivate volunteers than it does to motivate employees. That idea is much more pleasant for everyone involved when used with employees, boards, and commission members, as well as people in general. As team leader of the Come-See-Me Parade, I learned that just because I like something does not mean that everyone does or should. It is always best to get input from everyone involved to produce the most desirable result.
“I have continued giving back to our community since leaving county council through service and other boards including Keystone, the City of Rock Hill Zoning Board of Appeals, the Anne Springs Close Board of Managers, the York Technical College Commission, the Catawba Regional Council of Governments, the Pennies for Progress 5 Commission, the Rock Hill Economic Development Board, and the Bethel United Methodist Church Council.
“Through my community service as well as my 32 years as a small business owner, I have seen first-hand how the decisions made by the South Carolina State Senate affect our lives here at home. I am uniquely qualified to serve as your voice in Columbia to ensure future decisions are made in the most positive way possible for York County.”
