Rock Hill, SC — South Pointe High School hosted the fourth installment of its 2026 home track and field series Thursday, April 2, drawing nine programs from across York and Lancaster counties for a full afternoon of competition timed by Mitchell Timing.
Schools competing included Chester, Clover, Lancaster, Lewisville, Riverwalk Academy, South Pointe, Westminster Catawba Christian, York, and York County Trailblazers. Six performances from the day earned MileSplit’s US Second Team elite designation.
South Pointe won the boys team title with 195 points, well ahead of Clover’s 162.50. York was third with 112. On the girls side, South Pointe again topped the field with 171 points, followed closely by York at 160 and Clover at 152.
South Pointe senior Keller Brown swept the distance events, winning the 1600-meter run in 4:27.86 and the 3200 in 9:38.38, the latter earning elite honors. Sophomore Jett Shelton also had a strong day for the Stallions, taking the 800 in 2:03.44. In the sprints, South Pointe’s Devin Isley won the 200-meter dash in 21.42, another elite mark. Freshman Cash Truesdale edged Clover’s Dylan Kozel in the 100, 11.21 to 11.24.
York’s Levi Ward dominated the throws, winning the shot put at 15.86 meters — an elite performance — and the discus at 41.67 meters. Lewisville’s Jordan Strong was the standout in the jumps, winning the long jump at 6.49 meters and the triple jump at 13.98 meters, the latter earning elite distinction.
On the girls side, South Pointe’s Elizabeth Faircloth swept the distance events, winning the 1600 in 5:28.90 and the 3200 in 11:15.84, an elite mark. Eighth grader Emma Kate Brown of South Pointe was a strong second in both events. York’s Ava Shook claimed the 800 in 2:19.81, also earning elite honors. York’s Arianna Idehenre swept the hurdles, taking the 100-meter hurdles in 19.49 and the 400 hurdles in 1:14.94. Clover’s Amaiya Mayfield swept the girls throws, winning the shot put, discus, and javelin.
