Three local students from York County have been recognized by the University of Mississippi for outstanding academic performance during the Fall 2025 semester.
Ole Miss announced that Jayden McHone of Clover, Grant Bohnen of Rock Hill, and Jordyn McDonald of Fort Mill were named to the university’s Chancellor’s Honor Roll, an honor reserved for students who earn a semester GPA between 3.75 and 4.00.
- Jayden McHone, of Clover, is enrolled in the B.A.Ed. in Elementary Education program.
- Grant Bohnen, of Rock Hill, is pursuing a B.A. in History.
- Jordyn McDonald, of Fort Mill, is studying in the B.A. in Allied Health Studies program.
“We are very proud of the students earning the Chancellor’s Honor Roll designation,” Chancellor Glenn Boyce said in the announcement. “This recognition reflects their academic excellence and achievements and exemplifies the hard work, commitment and dedication that define our university community.”
To qualify for the Chancellor’s Honor Roll, students must complete at least 12 graded hours during the semester and cannot be on academic probation.
The University of Mississippi—known as Ole Miss—is the state’s flagship public university, based in Oxford, Mississippi, and is classified among the nation’s R1: Doctoral Universities – Highest Research Activity. The university includes 16 academic divisions, including a medical school and nationally recognized schools in areas such as accountancy, law and pharmacy, along with an Honors College focused on academic rigor and experiential learning.
