YORK COUNTY, S.C. — Students across the Tri-County area will trade bus stops for laptops again on Tuesday, as lingering effects from Sunday’s winter storm force schools to remain closed for in-person instruction.
All four York County school districts—Rock Hill, Fort Mill, Clover, and York—along with Lancaster County and Chester County schools, have announced they will transition to online learning for Tuesday.
Icy Conditions Prompt Safety Concerns
The National Weather Service forecast predicts temperatures will plunge as low as 10 degrees Tuesday morning before rising to near 40 degrees later in the day. This deep freeze poses a significant risk for school buses and teen drivers, particularly in the early morning hours.
Parents and students are encouraged to check their specific school district websites and email communications for details regarding login times and assignment expectations for the remote learning day.
