Mattie Hughes received the Educator Award for her previous work as principal of Jefferson Elementary School.
Mattie Hughes, York School District One’s coordinator of human resources, received the Educator Award at the 22nd Annual Western York County NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet, according to the district.
The award recognized Hughes’ leadership, service and commitment to students, families and staff during her previous role as principal of Jefferson Elementary School, the district said.
Hughes has since moved from the school level into human resources, where she now works to recruit, connect and support educators and staff across the district, according to York School District One.
The district said it congratulates Hughes on the recognition and credited her with continued impact on students, staff and families across York School District One.
