Lancaster County School District will hold four community forums this fall, beginning Sept. 22 at Buford High School and running through Oct. 27 at Lancaster High School. Each session starts at 6 p.m.
The forums are open to parents, students, employees and residents who want to ask questions of district leaders or raise issues affecting their schools. District materials promoting the series describe it as a chance to ask questions and share ideas.
The first session takes place Tuesday, Sept. 22, in the multi purpose building at Buford High School. The second follows Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the Andrew Jackson Visual and Performing Arts Center. The series moves to the Indian Land Middle School library on Monday, Oct. 19, and closes Tuesday, Oct. 27, in the multi purpose building at Lancaster High School.
The four locations spread the meetings across the district’s attendance areas, from Lancaster and Kershaw in the south to the fast growing Indian Land corridor along the York County and North Carolina lines. Panhandle growth has been a recurring topic for the district, which has added students in the Indian Land area at a faster rate than in the rest of Lancaster County.
Residents who cannot attend the session closest to home may attend any of the four. More information is available through the Lancaster County School District office.
