Dr. Ingrid Coke, a mathematics teacher at the Academies of Clover, has been selected as the 2026-2027 Clover School District (CSD) Teacher of the Year.
The announcement was made earlier today during the district’s annual Staff Convocation at the Clover School District Auditorium.
With 23 years of teaching experience, Dr. Coke brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the classroom at the Academies of Clover. She began her academic journey at the University of the West Indies, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics with a concentration in Electronics. She later completed a diploma in Teaching Science and Mathematics, launching a distinguished career in education. Committed to lifelong learning and professional growth, Dr. Coke earned a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education and achieved National Board Certification in Mathematics. She went on to complete a doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction, focusing on advancing teaching and learning through effective instructional design and leadership. Most recently, Dr. Coke earned a Post-Master’s Graduate Certificate in University and College Teaching from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Dr. Coke’s extensive experience, deep content knowledge, and commitment to educational excellence continue to make a meaningful impact on students and colleagues across the Clover School District.
Dr. Coke will now represent Clover School District in competition for South Carolina’s Teacher of the Year.

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida. In 2 short years he has won 10 awards from the South Carolina Press Association, including first place in column writing, education beat reporting and best podcast.
