Sybil Anne Lynn, 85, Lancaster, SC

Ms. Sybil Anne Adams Lynn, 85, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026 at her home. She was born September 29, 1940 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Inez Baker Adams and William Cletus “WC” Adams. Ms. Lynn retired from Springs Industries where she worked in the sewing room and later became a supervisor in the sewing department. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Ms. Lynn was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and then loving husband of 56 years, Fred Lynn.

A service to celebrate the life of Ms. Lynn will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 4 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald W. Tillman officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ms. Lynn is survived by her daughters, Ronda Lynn Carnes of Lancaster and Kathy Lynn Hurley (John Baker) of Rock Hill; her grandchildren, Shelley Carnes (Randall Coates), Patrick Carnes, Kathryne Hurley Bechtler (Brandon) and William Hurley; her great-grandchildren, Chase Stroud, Tray Stroud and Margaret Bechtler; her sister, Carolyn Caskey, her brother-in-law, Joe Lynn (Barbara) of Lancaster; and several nieces and nephews.

Ms. Lynn was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, John and Gladys Lynn, her son-in-law, Dave Carnes, her parents, Inez Baker Adams and William Cleatus “WC” Adams; her siblings, Bonnie Twite, Gene Adams and his wife Marcene, William “Buck” Adams, Helen Sullivan and her husband Robbie, Danny Ray Adams; grandson-in-law, Paul Stroud; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to her wonderful caregivers who have taken great care of Ms. Lynn and loved her these last few years, Navada, Ciera, Mitzi, Aleshia and especially Nicole Catoe. The family will be forever grateful for the love and care that these caregivers gave to Ms. Lynn. The family would also like to thank the wonderful nurses of Heart of Hospice – Lancaster, especially Erika, Wenday Phillips and Baylee.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Lancaster Funeral Home.
