State Championship Recognition for South Pointe Cross Country
Before the meet’s first event, the South Pointe boys cross country team was honored for winning the 2025 South Carolina 4A state championship and presented with their state championship rings.
Senior Keller Brown, who has committed to Clemson University, also received a ring recognizing his individual victory at the 2025 4A state cross country meet.
Brown wasted little time backing up the recognition. The Stallions distance star captured the boys 1600 meters in 4:26.49 and the 3200 meters in 9:25.70, contributing 20 points to South Pointe’s narrow team victory.

Williams Powers Fort Mill With Four Wins
Fort Mill’s Mia Williams was the meet’s most prolific individual scorer, sweeping four events. Williams won the 100 meters in 12.39, the 200 meters in 24.92, the long jump at 17 feet 6.25 inches and the triple jump at 37 feet 3.75 inches. Her 40 points alone accounted for roughly a third of the Yellow Jackets’ team total.
Sprint Showdown
South Pointe’s Devin Isley collected his own track double, taking the boys 100 meters in 10.69 seconds and the 200 in 21.49. Rock Hill’s Da’trell Watson and Devan Erby joined Isley on the boys sprint podium, with Watson runner up in the 100 (10.96) and Erby second in the 200 (21.59).
Fort Mill’s Jahzir McCants edged Rock Hill’s Jaderion Moore for the boys 400 meter title, 49.15 to 49.27. Nation Ford finished one two in the girls 400, with Madison Brailsford winning in 1:00.04 and Laia Green close behind at 1:00.69.
Brown, Faircloth Lead Distance Sweeps
Brown’s distance double on the boys side was matched by South Pointe teammate Elizabeth Faircloth on the girls side. Faircloth won the 1600 in 5:25.08 and the 3200 in 11:21.73, with teammate Emma Kate Brown placing second in both races.
Fort Mill’s Wyatt Gremillion captured the boys 800 in 1:57.17, and York junior Ava Shook took the girls 800 in 2:20.60.
Hurdles
Fort Mill’s Jordan Walter clocked 15.45 to win the boys 110 meter hurdles, while teammate Ashton Privette took the 400 meter hurdles in 1:00.34. Nation Ford swept the girls hurdles events behind Lylah Buck and Ariah Heard. Heard won the 100 hurdles in 16.20, edging Rock Hill’s KeMiya Mobley by .03 of a second. Buck won the 400 hurdles in 1:08.00, with Heard second in 1:08.46.
Relays
The boys 4×100 relay produced an unusual finish, with only Rock Hill (41.73) and South Pointe (41.78) crossing the line. Lancaster and Clover were disqualified, and Fort Mill, Buford and Nation Ford did not start.
Fort Mill won the boys 4×400 in 3:28.18. South Pointe captured the boys 4×800 in 8:19.03. Nation Ford swept the girls 4×100 (48.75) and 4×400 (4:10.64), and Catawba Ridge won the girls 4×800 in 9:57.48.
Throws
Rock Hill’s Aidan Graham dominated the boys throwing events, winning the shot put at 59 feet 5.75 inches and the discus at 177 feet 5 inches. Both winning marks were nearly nine feet better than the runner up. York’s Anna Sizemore did the same on the girls side, taking the shot put (35 feet 2.50 inches) and discus (111 feet 5 inches).
Catawba Ridge’s Brody Rivard won the boys javelin at 131 feet 6 inches. Clover’s Amaiya Mayfield took the girls javelin at 113 feet 2 inches.
Jumps
Catawba Ridge’s Zachary Jackson edged a strong field to win the boys long jump at 22 feet 1.50 inches. Nation Ford’s Anderson Corbett claimed the boys triple jump at 44 feet 8.75 inches. York’s Oliver Watson took the boys high jump at 6 feet 2.75 inches, prevailing on tiebreakers in a four way tie at the height. Rock Hill’s Hayden Varnadore cleared 12 feet 5.50 inches to win the boys pole vault, beating the second place mark by more than a foot.
Nation Ford’s Katelyn McFadden won the girls high jump at 5 feet 1 inch, with Falcons teammates Kate Doswell and Addison Boddie placing second and third. Rock Hill’s Darcy York captured the girls pole vault on tiebreakers over Clover’s Emily Lantos at 10 feet.
