First Responders Back Lt. Governor Pamela Evette Because of Her Steadfast Support and Record of Results
(CHARLESTON, S.C.) – Lt. Governor Pamela Evette announced the endorsement of the Professional Fire Fighters Association of South Carolina (PFFASC) in a press conference with the organization on Tuesday in Daniel Island.
The PFFASC represents professional firefighters across South Carolina and advocates for improved working conditions, training, equipment, pay, and benefits. During her time as Lieutenant Governor, Evette has worked alongside Gov. Henry McMaster and the General Assembly to deliver real results for firefighters, including tax relief, expanded cancer benefits, and stronger protections to keep first responders safe on the job. She is also actively working with the organization to advance H.5013, legislation that provides PFAS and cancer screenings for firefighters.
“Our relationship while she’s been in office has been really remarkable and it wasn’t much of a decision knowing what she’s done for us in the past,” said PFFASC President Roger Odachowski. “I know she stands with us because of the risks we take, and we’re going to stand with her all the way to the governor’s mansion.”
Evette welcomed the endorsement saying, “I’m honored to have the support of our brave South Carolina firefighters. These men and women put their lives on the line every day to protect our families, and they deserve leaders who have their backs. As Governor, I’ll keep fighting to make sure they have the pay, protection, and support they’ve earned.”
