Winthrop University to Host Democratic Candidate Forum

Democratic candidates will participate in a forum organized by the Winthrop University College Democrats and the York County Democratic Party to boost civic engagement in the upcoming 2026 elections. It will take place at the DiGorgio Center on Winthrop’s campus tomorrow night beginning at 6:00 pm and will feature brief presentations from each candidate, a Q & A session and a voter registration booth. South Carolina’s Democratic primary election is Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

WHO: Mallory Dittmer, candidate for U.S. Congressional District SC-05; Dr. Jermaine Johnson, candidate for South Carolina Governor; Dr. Annie Andrews, candidate for the U.S. Senate; a representative for Sylvia Wright, candidate for S.C. Superintendent of Schools, and a representative for Courtney McClain, candidate for S.C. Congressional District 4.
