LANCASTER, SC – Dale Anthony King, Jr., passed away on January 29, 2026, at the age of 52. Born on October 6, 1973, in Baltimore, MD, a son of Dale Anthony King, Sr. and Evelyn Ava Schoenwald Brown.
Mr. Dale, Jr. was a devoted father to Chandler and Marisa whom he cherished dearly. He enjoyed a life filled with simple pleasures. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and a NASCAR enthusiast, and he enjoyed sports of all kinds. He spent much of his free time hunting, fishing, and playing pool. He was known as a skilled grill master and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. He dearly loved his granddaughter, Magnolia, who brought him great joy and held a very special place in his heart.
He is survived by his son, Chandler Kyle King (Shelby); his daughter, Marisa Jewlia Reid (Nathan); his granddaughter, Magnolia Bea King; two brothers, Thomas and Dylan; two sisters, Robin and Amber; his parents, Dale King, Sr. and Evelyn Brown; and numerous other family members and friends.

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida. In 2 short years he has won 10 awards from the South Carolina Press Association, including first place in column writing, education beat reporting and best podcast.
